Violet Roena Barnes

Violet Roena Barnes, age 73, of Crossville, TN, departed this life on August 16, 2026, at Cumberland Medical Center.

Mrs. Barnes was born on November 10, 1952, in Monterey, TN, daughter of Lonnie Chester Stone and Rose (Beaty) Stone.

Violet worked in the receiving department at Walmart for 54 years. She loved to cook for family and friends. Violet was a loving mother, sister, and aunt.

She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Adkins (Aaron); sister, Clarice Winningham (Billy); brother, Jeff Stone (Michelle); nephews and nieces, Jason Winningham, Travis Winningham, Rebekah Leffew, Saprina Boring, Kenneth Stone, Natalie Stone, and Ivan Barnes; bonus grandchildren, Caydence Edwards, Autumn Edwards and A.J. Edwards.

In addition to her parents, Violet is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Earl Barnes; son, Jimmy "Jim Bob" Barnes; and sister, Chesteene "Chet" Buttram.

Funeral Service will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at Crossville City Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
