It is with very heavy hearts we announce the passing of Thomas Harry Storrison, age 72, on May 23, 2024, in Fairfield Glade- Crossville, Tennessee. Tom was born on November 4, 1951, in Toronto, Ontario, son of the late John Storrison and Gladys (Bursey) Storrison. He grew up in Roseville, MI and graduated from Roseville High School (1968) later earning his Associates Degree. Tom had a passion for sports, cars, being outdoors, live music, travel, and spending quality time with friends and family. He had the ability to make those around him laugh with a great sense of humor and quick wit. His curiosity about life and its mysteries was never-ending. He was a natural born teacher and problem solver, always eager to help someone in need. He was a man of meticulous detail and preparedness who was always organized and reliable. In 1971, Tom met the love of his life, Marcia, and they married on June 2nd, 1972. While living in East Detroit, they welcomed a daughter (Shay) into the world on November 7th, 1977, and a son (Thomas) on November 4th, 1981. His son is named after him and shares the same birthday. Tom & Marcia moved the family after purchasing their dream home in Macomb Twp., MI in 1984. This home was perfect for raising a family and was filled with treasured memories. Tom worked in the trades before settling into a 20 year career at Federal Express, retiring in 2014. He played in a hockey league for 40 years and was a Youth Hockey Referee for 17 years in MI and TN. Tom was assistant coach for his kids’ baseball and softball teams. Tom & Marcia relocated to Gallatin, TN in 2014, moving to Fairfield Glade, TN in 2017. Here Tom enjoyed scenic surroundings, hiking, live music, great food, margaritas, new friends, and precious time with his wife. He enjoyed traveling to Florida to visit his son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. He also took the trip of a lifetime to Japan and made many trips to Las Vegas, where he was known to dominate the blackjack tables. He was a regular in a competitive Poker group in Fairfield Glade. Tom & Marcia renewed their 40th wedding vows in 2012 at Graceland Chapel in Las Vegas with immediate family. Tom will be remembered as a kind, funny, helpful, courteous, humble, and loving man who possessed all the characteristics of a great son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Marcia (Owen) Storrison, his children Shay (Aaron) Gauger, Thomas (Morgan) Storrison, grandson Colt, brothers John & Robert, and sister MaryAnn. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother William Storrison. Celebration of Life events will be organized in Michigan and Tennessee. Communications will be shared separately with family and friends. Arrangements and Care provided by Bilbrey Funeral Home and Cremation Service. The family welcomes donations to The American Heart Association as an expression of sympathy.
