Terry Evelyn Qualls, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, went to be with the Lord on August 2nd, 2025, at the age of 71. She was born on December 28th, 1953, in Cookeville, TN.
Terry lived a life marked by love, kindness, and a deep dedication to her family. A gifted educator, Terry devoted over 20 years of her life to teaching at Parkview Elementary, where she inspired countless students with her wisdom, patience, and genuine care. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom, leaving a lasting legacy in the lives that she touched.
Terry’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her son, Dr. Robert Summers, and his wife, Elizabeth, along with their daughter Madeline Summers. She is also survived by her daughter, Mrs. Sarah Baisley, and her husband, Andrew, along with their children, Cade and Ali Baisley. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Elwin and Edna Qualls.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 9th, 2025, at 11 am at Cavin Haus (453 East Broad Street, Cookeville, TN). The family will receive friends at 10 am. Pastor Eddie Turner will officiate the service. A meal for friends and family will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Terry’s name be made to the Family Resource Program at Putnam County Schools (1400 East Spring St. Cookeville, TN 38506). These donations will be used to purchase school necessities and pay off lunch debt for marginalized students in Putnam County.
Though her absence leaves a deep ache in our hearts, we rejoice in the blessed assurance that she is now in the loving arms of our Lord. Terry's life was a testament to compassion, faith, and grace. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
We love you Nanny!
