Stanley Carl Henry entered his earthly life on April 19, 1937, in Slate Springs. He was the seventh of eight children born to Louis Russell Henry and Tena Mabel (Hawn) Henry. Stanley was the last surviving sibling. He entered into the presence of his Lord on July 18, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Bernice Hamby, Jewell Proffitt, and Mary Lou Brantley, and brothers Alva, Arlan, Junior Burton (JB), and James. His first wife Rebecca Hall and step-daughter Valeria also preceded him in death. Stanley retired in 2002 from Manchester Tank where he worked for 36 years. During that time he was awarded employee of the month and employee of the year more than one time each. Stanley accepted Jesus as the Lord of his life in 2010. From that time on he lived a life of unquestioning faith and read his Bible every day. In the last several years he suffered from severe breathing problems and the loss of most of his eyesight from macular degeneration. He was a kind and gentle man who always helped others whenever he could. He was known for his homemade beef jerky which he gladly shared with family and co-workers. Stanley was one of the greatest fans of all Tennessee Sports.
He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy who he married in 2012. She was his caregiver through his health problems. He is also survived by a very special grandson, Steven Hall of Paducah, KY, who was the joy of his life, and step-daughters Alice Hale of Crossville and June Toth (Steve) of Nokesville, VA, step-son Robert Gunn (Vicky) of Buchanan, MI, four step-granddaughters, Jessica Kesterke, Lauren Toth, Allyson Toth, and Sarah Preston, 1 step-great grandson JJ Kesterke and 1 step-great granddaughter Autumn Preston. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at Lantana Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Johnson on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will be at Green Acres Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers donations are requested for Lantana Road Baptist Church or Hospice of Cumberland County.
