Sidney William Miller, age 83, of Crossville, TN. Passed away on May 18, 2026, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center.
Born August 19, 1942, Sid Miller lived life with energy, humor, and a voice that could never be ignored. A proud MSU graduate and lifelong Spartan fan, before finishing college he served in the U.S. Army, spending much of his service stationed in Berlin, where he became known for his athleticism and natural charm.
In 1972, he married Jeani DeFrain and together they raised three boys in Corunna, MI. A salesman throughout his life, he built lasting friendships everywhere he went, eventually retiring as a sales manager for Evans Food in Swartz Creek.
Known for his outgoing personality and booming encouragement from the bleachers, he brought enthusiasm and warmth to every crowd and every community he joined. After retiring in 2004, he followed his love for golf and became a beloved and unforgettable ranger and starter at Heatherhurst Golf Course. He became an icon in that role. Annual visitors and local residents alike came to know him for his humor, friendliness, and unmistakable presence.
He passed away following a courageous two-year battle with colon cancer, leaving behind family, friends, and countless others whose lives were brighter because of him. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and impossible to replace.
He is survived by his wife, Jeani Miller; sons, Chad Miller (Amy McCoy), Tyson Miller, and Jay Miller (Beth); grandchildren Jackson, Madden, Maya, Luke, Adam, Boden, and Rory; and sisters Janett McGinnis, Brenda Dickason, and Carmen Zeigler.
Sidney is preceded in death by both of his parents.
