Sheila F. Holyfield, of Crossville, TN, has been called home by her Lord God. She passed quietly and peacefully on the morning of September 9, 2026. Sheila spent her last days surrounded by family and loved ones.
Sheila was born on December 24, 1944, in Houma, LA to Myles and Stella Floyd. She was the eldest of three children. She is survived by her husband, Bob Holyfield, whom she married in the summer of 1968. Additionally, her two children, Tammy H. Rester and Myles Holyfield (his wife Whitney Holyfield), granddaughter Adeline H. Stafford (her husband Preston Stafford), and sister Cynthia F. Cornelius. Sheila was preceded in death by her sister, Jacqueline F. Brewster and son-in-law, Daniel K. Rester.
Sheila spent her professional career in banking. She retired, after more than 20 years, from Plaquemine Bank & Trust Company as Senior Vice President in 1999. She loved playing cards with her friends on their monthly game nights while living in Denham Springs, LA. Sheila enjoyed playing golf during many of those years in Denham Springs. She was fiercely loyal to her family. Sheila knew the names, birthdays, accomplishments and accolades of all the extended family of her Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Since moving to Tennessee in 2016, she always looked forward to the annual pilgrimage to Louisiana to visit those family members. She spoke lovingly and appreciatively about her new family in Fairfield Glade, TN. Sheila truly found her Faith and sense of giving while in TN. Sheila immensely enjoyed the 9:15 Worship Service and Jammin for Jesus Praise Band. She faithfully volunteered her time and talents to Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church and Crab Orchard Care Center.
