Sandra Gayle Tapani, 86, of Crossville, Tennessee, died peacefully on Monday April 27, 2026 at Signature Heath Care of Rockwood, Tennessee.
Sandy was born on October 28, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Joseph A. Hughes and Helen (Huotari) Hughes.
She graduated from Jeffers High School, Painesdale, Michigan in 1957 and then attended Soumi College for one year.
On August 19th of 1961 she married Ray A. Tapani in Baltic, Michigan. They were married 56 years. He preceded her in death August 12, 2018.
A faithful servant of the Lord, Sandy enjoyed crafting, gardening photography, sight seeing and travel.
She is survived by her three children, daughter Michele (Paul) Roach, son Kevin (Sharon) Tapani, and daughter Erika Tapani; five grandchildren, Kristina (Dan) Kotasek, Kelsey Roach, Sarah (Bryce) Lahrman, Ryan (Olivia) Tapani, and Luke Tapani: and four great grandchildren, Cameron Kotasek, Bennett Lahrman, Henry Lahrman, and Charlie Lahrman.
No services are scheduled at this time.
Bilbrey Funeral Home in Crossville is in charge of arrangements.
