Raymond B. Purzycki passed away on February 9, 2026, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville, TN at the age of 78.

He was born on June 9, 1947, in Flint, MI. He entered the Navy in 1966 and served on the USS Bellnapp during the Vietnam War. When he returned home, he went to school and became a millwright at GM Truck and Bus. He married the love of his life, Claudette Hudson, in 1971. They were married for 54 years and had two children, Matthew and Andrea. He was a devoted family man and a devout Catholic. He was known for his jokes, warm hugs, and being the life of the party. When he retired, he moved to Fairfield Glade, TN. There he enjoyed playing golf and riding motorcycles with his friends. He was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.

He was proceeded in death by his father and mother, Barry and Jenny Purzycki; his sisters, Dell West and Gerry Haskins; and grandson Nathaniel Purzycki.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Claudette Purzycki; son Matthew and Leanne Purzycki; daughter, Andrea and Eddie Chasteen; and grandchildren, Trey, Ayda, Alex, Harrison, and Cassidy.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 7503 Peavine Rd. Crossville, TN 38558 of Tuesday, February 17, at 10:00 AM (CST).

A private burial will be held at Knoxville National Cemetery.
