Marilyn Lou (Huffman) Orr passed peacefully into Heaven on the afternoon of July 1, 2026 from her Spring Arbor Senior Living Center in Crossville, TN at the age of 94.

Born on August 3, 1931 on a farm in the Cowan area outside Muncie, Indiana; Marilyn grew up with her three siblings, parents and grandparents close by. She graduated from Cowan High School while also working at the Rivoli Theater. She then began a long career until retirement with Industrial Trust & Savings Bank in downtown Muncie.

Marilyn was married early for a short while before finding a loving partnership with Paul Eugene (Gene) Wooten. They had a happy, loving marriage from 1957 until his unexpected passing on March 4, 1976 at the age of 45. Marilyn and Gene spent their summer weekends on Lake Tippecanoe enjoying days filled with boating, swimming, skiing, playing games and sharing time with family.

Marilyn then found a special love again with George Dean Orr. They were married in 1977 and spent many happy years together until his passing at the age of 93 on August 13, 2018.

Marilyn and Dean enjoyed church, family time, golfing and dancing together. After retirement they moved to Crossville Tennessee where they built their dream home close to the golf course so they could enjoy their favorite sport. Marilyn even worked in the Pro Shop.

Marilyn lived a full life filled with love, faith, family and friends.

She enjoyed church activities, playing bridge, golfing, dancing, socializing, laughing, shopping and sweets!

Marilyn is survived by her sister Mary Jane (Huffman) Carmichael and sister-in-law Pamela Jo (Atkins) Huffman along with many nieces and nephews. Marilyn is also survived by Dean’s son James Dean and his wife Carol Jean as she welcomed them as her own. She became grandmother to their daughter Stephanie Nicole Orr and their son Michael Jasen (wife Erin) along with a number great and great great grandchildren.

Marilyn is predeceased by her two husbands, her parents Eva Corrine Huffman and James Ross Huffman; her sister Margaret Ann (Huffman) Choate and brother-in-law Robert Dean Choate; her brother Merle Edward Huffman and her brother-in-law Ernest Leroy Carmichael. Also, predeceased by her nephews Merle Edward Huffman, Jr, Chase Evan Zavakos, Scott Leroy Carmichael and Andrew Dion Choate.

A Celebration of Life will be held in early September and then Marilyn will be laid to rest next to her husband Dean in Crossville, TN.
