Maribelle Long

Maribelle Long was born in Denver, Colorado on September 11, 1930. She went to be with the Lord on August 23, 2023. She was the daughter of Rupert and Thelma Ingram. She is preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters, Orva Anne Summers and Betty Mayhew and her granddaughter, Stephanie Mueller. Maribelle Long came from Denver to Crossville and became a resident of Cumberland Ridge Assisted Living on June 22, 2020.

Maribelle is a native of Denver, Colorado. She is the mother of four children, Cheryl Swallows (Ralph) of Crossville, Gale Mueller (Paul) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dale Long, Jr. (Vicki) of Arvada, Colorado, and Laura Barber (Gary) of Lakewood, Colorado. She has 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.

She was a stay-at-home Mom for many years. Later, she worked for Denver Social Services and Adams County Social Services. She did certifications for foster care and adoptive homes. After retiring from Social Services, she went on to do some CNA and in-home care services for the Senior Resource Center. She did this on a part-time basis until she was about 87. She loved serving others.

She loved hiking in the Rocky Mountains with her daughter Laura, and other family members when vacations brought them into Denver. She loved biking and later enjoyed riding an adult tricycle. She had over 1,700 miles on her trike. She still enjoyed walking even in her last days. She longed for the days when she could be in the Rockies.

Her love for the Lord was evident in the fact that she loved to read her Bible, listen to Christian music and watch TV preachers on Sunday mornings. She looked forward to the time when she would see the Lord face-to-face.

She loved to play computer games like Solitaire and Mahjong. She also loved to play Mexican Train. She enjoyed playing Bingo with the residents at Cumberland Ridge. She also enjoyed word search books.
