Linda Lee Simmons

Linda Simmons, age 77, of Crossville, TN, passed away at Cumberland House on August 26, 2024. Mrs. Simmons was born on March 19, 1947, in Marion, OH, daughter of the late Ralph Oldfield and Norma Jean (Seckel) Oldfield. In her earlier years, Linda was a manager for Bob Evans Restaurants and helped her mother manage the restaurant facilities at the Whetstone Golf Course in Marion, Ohio. When she moved to Fairfield Glade in 1999, she worked for Wyndham Resorts. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Fairfield Glade and stayed very active with her church family. She was a member of the Visually Impaired Support (VIS) Group of Cumberland County, TN Inc. for the past 14 years and was the President for over 10 years. She was also one of the volunteer Directors for the Lions Club in Fairfield Glade. Linda stayed very active. She loved to make crafts, sew, look for shells on the beach, spend time with family, walk, read and volunteer for her community. She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Simmons; daughter, Nikki Ralston; son, Michael Clever; grandchildren, Kaden Ralston and Jordan Spillman (Ryan), and Bry Large; and great grandchildren, Trysten, Ryan and Aisleigh. In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lindsay Clever; and brother, Timothy Oldfield. A visitation will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Thursday, August 29, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A graveside service will follow in the Claridon Cemetery on Marion-Mt-Gilead Road in Caledonia, Ohio on Saturday August 31st at 11:00am. Contributions in Linda’s name may be made to the Visually Impaired Support (VIS) Group of Cumberland County, TN Inc. or the Lions Club.
