Juanita "Ganny" Smith

Juanita "Ganny" Smith, age 64, of Crossville, TN, passed away on August 25, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital in Knoxville.

Ganny was born on October 2, 1961, in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late Joe Edward Lewis (Carol) and Maria (Huber) Lewis.

She devoted her life to her husband and daughters, loving them fiercely and selflessly and always making sure they had everything they needed, even if it meant going without herself. She was not only a wonderful mother, but also a best friend and confidante, and later a beloved “Ganny” who was absolutely adored by her grandchildren and then her great grandchildren. Her sweet, kind spirit touched everyone who knew her, and the love she gave so freely will live on through her family forever.

She was a member of Crossville Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Scott Smith; daughters, Trisha Burnett (Josh) and April Edman; grandchildren, Carissa Dannels (Greg), Lauren Edman, Vada Burnett, Lydia Burnett; great grandchildren, Nylah Dannels and Lincoln Dannels; sister, Amanda Smith; and brother, Keith Lewis.

In addition to her parents, Ganny is preceded in death by her siblings, Joan Woody, Anita Myers, Roger Lewis, Tommy Lewis, and Kevin Lewis.

Funeral Services will be held at Crossville Church of Christ on Main Street on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 2:00 PM followed by burial at Richards Cemetery in Grimsley, TN. Family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
