Jon "Marc" Mulkey

September 22, 1959 — April 24, 2026

Crossville, TN

Jon Marc Mulkey, age 66, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away Friday, April 24, 2026, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville after fighting a brief and unexpected illness.

Marc was born on September 22, 1959, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, son of the late Donald “Don” Mulkey and Marianne “Anne” Mulkey.

Marc is survived by his devoted wife Laurel Mulkey; his son, David Mulkey; his daughters, Alisha Anderson, Kayla Mulkey, and Kendra Burnett; mother, Anne Mulkey; brother, Tim Mulkey; sisters, Debra Griffin and Ginger Gibbs; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved dog Judy, who brought him so much happiness, love, and companionship.

In addition to his father, he is predeceased by his sisters Kathy Holton and Becki Burr.

Throughout his life Marc held a variety of occupations, including working on an off-shore oil rig, various long-haul and local truck driver jobs, and working as a heavy equipment operator. He also served for a brief time in the Air National Guard. However, he discovered his dream job at the age of 43, when he graduated broadcasting school and moved to Juneau, Alaska, to work as a DJ for the local country radio station.

It was in Juneau where he met the love of his life and soulmate, Laurel. They married on June 5, 2004, and created a beautiful life together. Laurel is heartbroken over his passing and will miss him every day for the rest of her life. Marc was not only her husband and soulmate, he was her best friend, her rock, her champion, her home, her everything.

Marc sang beautifully, was an avid golfer, loved riding his Harley, hailed John Wayne as his hero, and was even on the cover of Time magazine. He loved his family and was so incredibly proud of his kids. He was also the epitome of the true iconic cowboy: he was kind, generous, honest, trustworthy, respectful, brave, and loyal. He valued integrity and respect for others, and always believed in doing what was right and standing up for others. He loved this country and proudly supported the men and women of our armed forces. He was funny, smart, witty, and caring, and will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
