John Paul Walker, 39, passed away on the morning of January 15, 2026. Born on December 30, 1986, John brought a quiet strength, a generous spirit, and a dependable presence to all who knew him.
John was self‑employed and worked proudly as a handyman, using his skills to help neighbors, friends, and anyone who needed a capable pair of hands. His work reflected who he was—steady, thoughtful, and always willing to lend support. He was a member of Homestead Baptist Church, where he found fellowship and community.
He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Whether he was walking a wooded ridge at sunrise or casting a line into still water, John found peace and joy in God’s creation.
He is survived by his mother, Debbie A. Walker; his sister, Kelly Noland; his nephews, Atlas Noland and Storm Noland; his grandmother, Ruth A. York; his uncle and aunt, Randy and Judy York; and his cousins, Anna Lofton and John York.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Walker; his maternal grandfather, John B. York; his paternal grandparents, Paul Walker of Sparta; and his grandmother, Joyce Lewis.
John will be remembered for his kindness, his loyalty to his family, and the quiet way he made life easier for the people around him.
Funeral will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM with burial to follow at Pomona Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 PM prior to the service.
