John Lee Smith

John L. Smith, age 94, of Crossville, TN, passed away at his home on August 27, 2026.

Mr. Smith was born on September 19, 1931, in Crossville, Tennessee, son of the late Dewey George Smith and Martha Jane (Beyer) Smith.

John served his country in the United States Navy. He was also a customer service clerk at Kroger.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Eunice Smith; son, George Smith (Karen); daughter, Rintha Pugh (Ronnie) and Jan Tollett (Bill); grandchildren, Heather Birdwell, Jacob Wyatt, Whitney Ross, Stacy Bond, Lorin Dannelly; 5 great grandchildren; and siblings, Delmer Smith, Noel Smith, Linda Moffitt, and Velma Burgess.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his siblings, Robert Smith, Frankie Smith, Ronnie Smith, Alfonzo Smith, Veron Lane Smith, Margaret Sherrill, Vancieneta Wisdom, and Jessie Dean Smith.

Funeral Service will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 3:00 PM with burial to follow at Lantana Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the service.
