John "Jaxter" Baxter Burnett II

John “Jaxter” Baxter Burnett II, age 79, of Crossville, TN, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at his home.

Jaxter was born on May 28, 1947, in Rockwood, TN, the son of the late Hiram Cornell Burnett and Eloise (Huling) Burnett.

He was the senior Blood Bank Technologist at Cumberland Medical Center and was an avid TN Vols fan.

He is survived by his wife, Lee Hale Burnett; children, Abby Whitson (Cub), Brandi Velotta (Jamie), Ashley Bledsoe (Brian), John Burnett, and Heather Rasmus (John); 12 grandchildren: Tyler, Bailee, Cullen, Cameron, Liam, Merritt, Mallie, Mabrie, Aiden, Braelyn, Britlee, and Bella; and one great-grandchild, Jamie.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his brothers, Jerry Cornell Burnett and Randall Keith Burnett.

Funeral services will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 3:00 PM, with burial to follow at Crossville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
