Crossville, TN

Donna K. Gocella, age 87, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 25th, 2026. Born on December 21, 1938, in Bradford, Pennsylvania, to Ruth Alberta and Lloyd J. Brown. Donna lived a life defined by deep faith, unwavering love for her family and a generous spirit that touched everyone around her.

On October 24, 1959, Donna married the love of her life, William "Gus" Gocella, at Saint Francis Catholic Church in Bradford, Pennsylvania. Gus joined the US Air Force and together they traveled, built a beautiful life, raised a loving family and have celebrated more than 66 years of marriage. They retired and made a home in Crossville that has become a place of warmth, laughter and open doors - a true reflection of how Donna lived her life.

An active and devoted member of Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church in Crossville, Donna's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She channeled that faith into action, volunteering tirelessly for numerous charitable organizations serving the Church and the Crossville community. Whether she was lending a hand, offering an encouraging word, or simply sharing her warm smile, Donna had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved. She was passionate about helping others and never turned away someone in need.

Donna leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband, William "Gus" Gocella; her three children, Josette Cleghorn (Patrick), Suzanne Pilson (Greg) and Joseph Gocella (Brit); seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister, Pat McGinnis of Colorado; and her sisters-in-law, Dolores Kase of Indiana and Barbara Gocella, SSJ of Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth Alberta and Lloyd J. Brown; her sister, Roseann Klussman; her brother, Lloyd Brown Jr. and granddaughter, Makenzie Elyse Gocella.

Donna K. Gocella leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and grace. She was a woman who gave freely of herself and asked for nothing in return. Her family and all who knew her are richer for having had her in their lives. She will be deeply missed and forever held in their hearts.
