David John Hess

David John Hess, devoted husband, father, grandfather, attorney, CPA, and co-founder of Wealth Enhancement Group, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, wisdom, faith, and love. He was born March 18, 1947 and passed away on February 14, 2026.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

A graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School, David earned his Juris Doctor and CPA. His brilliant mind, steady leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit helped build a firm that would go on to guide and bless countless families. He believed deeply in stewardship, service, and doing what was right.

Above all his professional accomplishments, David’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a loving father to nine children and a proud grandfather to twenty-seven grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren He led his family with strength, humility, faith in Jesus Christ, and unwavering devotion. His wisdom, quiet humor, and generous heart made everyone feel valued and heard.

David was loved by all who knew him. His presence brought calm, his counsel brought clarity, and his life reflected a man of deep character and conviction. He will be profoundly missed but forever remembered in the lives he shaped and the love he gave so freely.

He leaves behind a family who will carry forward his legacy of faith and integrity.

David is survived by his wife, Teresa Hess; children, Michael Hess (Rebecca), Joseph Hess, Elijah Scripture (Melanie), Bejamin Hess (Jessica Jones), Cameron Scripture (Christine), Kathryn Dangers, Ashley Brockman, Daniel Hess (Harini Chandramouli), Amanda Yule; grandchildren, Andrew, Kylie (Daniel), Camila, Gabriella, Matthew, Jonah, Theo, Damion, Damien, Leland, Nolan, Violet, Thomas, Mason, Liliana, Liam, Owen, Roman, Noah, Luke, Blake, Harrison, Charlee, Luke, and Ysah; great grandchildren, Odin, Hayla, Milo, and Chloe; brothers, Jim Hess (Meredith); sister, Sandy Fuller; mother-in-law, Lena Sanson; nephew, Steve Hess (Cari); nieces, Sheri Hess, Tara GiOrono (Frank) and Wendy Hinkle (Billy); sisters-in-law, Pam Williamson (Pat), Rhonda McNeilus (Pat), and Stella Boltz (Bob); and brothers-in-law, Bud Sanson (Lori) and Mark McElderry.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Hess and Marion (Schoenert) Hess; father-in-law, William Harry Sanson, Jr.; sister-in-law, Cindy McElderry); son-in-law, JB Brockman; and brother, John “Nate” Hess.

Memorial Service will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 3:00 PM. Family will receive friend from 2:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the service.

Services in Minnesota will be announced at a later date.
