David Eric Caruthers

David "Eric" Caruthers, age 50, of Crossville, TN, passed away at Cumberland Medical Center on January 8, 2026.

Mr. Caruthers was born on August 20, 1975, in Crossville, TN, son of David Lee Caruthers and Patricia (Cordell) Gunter.

Eric was a wildland firefighter in the forestry department for 20 years. He loved to hunt and fish. More than anything Eric loved his family and friends.

He is survived by son, Kaigan Caruthers; mother, Pat Gunter; stepfather, Ronnie Gunter; father, David Lee Caruthers; maternal grandmother, Dollie Cordell; brother, Josh Gunter (Sara); uncle, Kenny Cordell (Mikki), Joe Caruthers, and Roger Caruthers (Lori); and nephews, Carson, Lenox, and Huxley Gunter.

Eric is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ray Cordell; and uncle, Edward Caruthers.
