David Eric Caruthers

David Eric Caruthers, age 50, of Crossville, TN, passed away at Cumberland Medical Center on January 8, 2026.

Mr. Caruthers was born on August 20, 1975, in Crossville, TN, son of David Lee Caruthers and Patricia (Cordell) Gunter.

David was a wildland firefighter in the forestry department.

He is survived by son, Kaigan Caruthers; mother, Pat Gunter; stepfather, Ronnie Gunter; father, David Lee Caruthers; maternal grandmother, Dollie Cordell; brother, Josh Gunter (Sara); uncle, Kenny Cordell (Mikki), Joe Caruthers, and Roger Caruthers (Lori); and nephews, Carson, Lenox, and Huxley Gunter.

David is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ray Cordell; and uncle, Edward Caruthers.
