Surrounded by the infinite love of her family, Corinne A. Honaker of Crossville, TN, and formerly of Pickens, SC, peacefully passed away on October 5, 2026, with her devoted daughters holding her hand by her bedside. She has been reunited in eternity with her beloved husband of 38 and a half years, USAF Retiree MSGT Byron (David) Honaker, a native of Honaker, VA, who preceded her in death and whom she carried in her heart always.
Corinne’s legacy lives on through her devoted daughters, who feel blessed to have walked her home: Ellen D. Welsh and her husband Jamie of Simpsonville, SC; Jeanene A. Doran and her husband Patrick of Crossville, TN; and Corinne J. Oakland and her husband Pete of Escondido, CA. She was the deeply adored "Grandma" to five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren who brought endless joy to her life. Her love also extended fully to her four stepchildren and their families, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Corinne retired from Michelin North America in South Carolina after a distinguished 28-year career in Information Technology Management, where she was highly respected by her colleagues.
Corinne’s life was defined by a spirit of service, intelligence, and leadership. Before her corporate career, she served with dedication as the Personnel Transportation Supervisor at Pease Air Force Base (Strategic Air Command) in Portsmouth, NH. During the height of the Vietnam War (1968–1972), her tireless, "above and beyond" efforts to support military personnel across all branches earned her high commendations from both the Base Commander of Pease AFB and the United States Department of Defense—an achievement she held close to her heart throughout her life.
A private memorial service to honor and celebrate Corinne's life will be held at a later date at the M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, SC, where she will rest peacefully alongside her beloved husband.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Corinne's honor to the Scleroderma Center at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, to help support vital research and care.
