Betty Ruth Williams

Betty Williams, age 71, of Crossville passed away on January 16, 2023. She was born on August 15, 1951, in Crossville, TN. She was the youngest of Frank and Sattie Netherton’s seven children and was of the Baptist Faith. Betty graduated from CCHS and shortly afterward moved away from Crossville to join her husband as his military career took them to many different locations. Betty always enjoyed seeing different parts of the country and meeting new people. She made many good friends along the way. While living in Bossier City, LA, Betty graduated from Business College and went on to work over 30 years in the income tax business. While Betty enjoyed working and helping others, she truly loved being a wife, mother, and especially “Nanny” to her grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by parents Frank and Sattie Netherton; in-laws, Lloyd and Eunice Williams; infant grandsons, Michael and Matthew; daughter Donya Overholser; son-in-law, Rick Jones; brother, Ervin Netherton; and sisters, Helen and Sue. Left to cherish her memory are her husband and best friend of 52 years, Kenneth Williams; daughters, Teresa Jones of Shreveport, LA, and Nicole Anderson (Vance) of Cookeville, TN; sister-in-law, Kathy Stewart (Randy) of Tipton, IN; brother-in-law, Jerry Williams of Trotwood, OH; three grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. Funeral Services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Thursday, January 19, 2023. Burial followed at Green Acres Memory Gardens.
